When I “met” @thatonedood on IG I was so moved by his words and was especially drawn to this photo upon reading his poetry that I proposed we do a collaboration.  Here’s our 1st one and hopefully this will be the first of many!

His words my photo…

took a breath

walked alone

balked at tones tryin to define me

refine the

person im supposed to be

took a breath in

then stepped in

paths of pasts marked for my extinction

if fiction or truth

regardless, im in the booth

tryin NOT to be superman

instead caught in a stupor, and

blastin out the confines stenciled in

ones architects cant pencil in

doctors scribblin in

prescriptions for an illness

chilness, the breath i took in

looked in-

side the soul of old sole

dead soldiers between the crevices

red boulders are amorphous

is it the sun or the clouds

is the question im allowed

to ask if im the soul

i cant claim to be

want more than the cracks of the sidewalks

in front of me

to be blunt, i’ve been wearing shades

so i can hue my reality

a fallacy of contrast

lasting past artificial saturation of

my ambiance

the odds be on

4 to 1 for me failing more

often than the sun is raising

luminance of the rays unlikely

to melt the ice littered path

cracked with chasms & canyons

distortions among the bastions

of plaid worn expectations

so then i took a breath in…
