Artist Statement
Five years ago, I received my first iPhone. As a lifelong photographer, I quickly became entranced with the native camera and stumbled upon a little photo sharing app called Instagram. Not long thereafter, I discovered my favorite photography app, Hipstamatic. A whole new world of mobile photography opened up right before my eyes. And the best part is that I can always have my camera (phone) right there in my pocket.
I am a nature girl at heart, so my favorite subjects to photograph are all manner of plants, trees, flowers, animals, insects, bodies of water, dawn and sunset. However, I have no problem delving into other areas, such as street photography and photojournalism. Although I appreciate the art of black and white photography, I am strongly drawn to colors, particularly bright and deeply saturated color. I love to photograph the same spot at different times of day, in different light.
I am also a writer; I have been writing poems and short stories ever since I was 14 years old. And because I am completely in tune with the philosophy that every picture tells a story, I feel it was a natural progression for me to become associated with Grryo and the Storytellers.
So, here I am, looking forward to sharing the stories and photographs from my world to yours.
