Artist Statement
The ordinary enthralls me. Whether I’m travelling or just walking around in my own homeland of Singapore, I am fascinated by the everyday scenes around me that go unnoticed, especially by the people who, for the most part, remain invisible to the eyes of society. I find so much beauty in the forgotten and the overlooked, and I try to capture that in writing as much as I can.
Photography wasn’t really something I ever really thought of picking up. I just discovered how much dimension and depth a photograph brings to any description of a setting, situation, person, or place, and I started to fall in love with it from there on. It amazes me that so many good pictures often happen by accident, but then again, there’s beauty in that as well, and I hope to share it with the rest of the world, whether online or in real life.
