Welcome to the Seventh edition of the GRRYO 1000 Words Facebook Showcase!
Over the past few months, we have seen the group grow and watched their inspiring work being posted daily. We are happy to be able to showcase some of the outstanding work that is being shared.
GRRYO believes that mobile photographers/ artists tell stories through the photographs/ images and art that represents their families, their environment, themselves. This is important because of the level of communication that is portrayed in imaging today.
We want to support the mobile arts community by having a place for artists to share, discuss, and critique (if requested by individual). These dialogues help the individuals and the community to grow.

1. I usually do my basic editing in Snapseed
2. Bring it into touch/retouch and take out obvious flaws
3. This then Image has been through many different apps
Including snapseed, ps express, picfx, and i lost track of the exact order
What I do know is framed in PS Express
Then I used title FX to sign

– The source of inspiration is undoubtedly the work of Mark Rothko.
– Apps involved : Camera +, Snaspseed, Glaze, Stackables.
– Dawn on the Adriatic Coast recovery and cropped with Camera +, made more vivid with Drama Snapseed, pictorially processed with Glaze and buffing with a couple of textures from Stackables.

– Inspiration: The idea came to me from looking at some collage-decollage; a technique that I really like together with the mixed media.
– Apps: Camera+ – PicFx – Vsco
– Detail proc.: I recovered an old box of medicines and cut into little strips of a few millimeters wide,to start a small collage on paper.
During the process of composition (by changing the arrangement often) I decided to take pictures of the parts that I found interesting in terms of aesthetics.
I began to process the photo, and some textures have brought out the small details of the spots and shadows giving the illusion of a glimpse of a face peering through the slit.
And you can catch a glimpse of a cat looking in the opposite direction.

Attached is one (fairly) high resolution copy of Mourning Mist. My inspiration is not all that inspiring really… I found myself alone on the lake early Sunday morning 2 weeks ago and decided to try my luck at getting the beautiful but distant rain soaked clouds in with the glorious sunrise. I did but they never made the final cut…lol.
My process is fairly simple, open in Xnview turn to black and white and save, then 3 vintage #20’s and 2 bloom #4’s. I then saved the image and put the first black and white save through decim8 CHIP13h and save again. I then blended the two images with superimpose (screen setting I think) and viola…. mourning mist.
I show on Instagram @preciousnest and the same on Flickr but haven’t been to either in ages. I have been very busy but hope to return to them soon.

Most of my influence is from the social networks and the artists I follow.I find their work very interesting and inspiring. I’m very fond of street photography in black and white. But you can still find a random selection of photos on all my feeds. Not a single moment has been missed.
This particular photograph was taken in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire England. really enjoyed on this day particularly as the weather was providing quality light to have an abundance of shadows. And the lines on the road and architecture making some great leading lines. The gentle man walking down the street was a great bonus to this shot.

Edited in PixlrExpress and Snapseed for the black and white and framing.

In this crazy wonderful world of mobile artistry, we come across people that touch our lives in special ways unknown to us before. Last month, I had the wonderful experience of meeting one of my longest time followers from Instagram, a person who has become one of my dearest friends, when he flew across the country to visit. Who else but a fellow mobile photographer would answer “The Galleries” when asked what he wanted to see during his only day and first visit to NYC. So off we went to Chelsea to shot in SlowShutter. From the series “Chelsea Sunday” (first run, post 5). Shot with SlowShutter cam, edited with ArtRage, Procreate, MobileMonet, Blender, Laminar, and Flowpaper.
